Executive Producer

Dionne Warwick

Scintillating, soothing and sensual best describe the familiar and legendary voice of five-time Grammy Award winning music legend, DIONNE WARWICK, who has become a cornerstone of American pop music and culture. Warwick’s career, which currently celebrates 50 years, has established her as an international music icon and concert act. She has earned more than sixty charted hit songs and sold over 100 million records. She began singing professionally in 1961 after being discovered by a young songwriting team, Burt Bacharach and Hal David. She had her first hit in 1962 with “Don’t Make Me Over.” Less than a decade later, she had released more than 18 consecutive Top 100 singles, including her classic Bacharach/David recordings, “Walk on By,” “Anyone Who Had a Heart,” “Message to Michael,” “Promises Promises,” “A House is Not a Home,” “Alfie,” “Say a Little Prayer,” “This Girl’s in Love With You,” “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” “Reach Out For Me,” and the theme from “Valley of the Dolls.” Warwick, and her songwriting team of Burt Bacharach & Hal David, racked up more than 30 hit singles, and close to 20 best-selling albums, during their first decade together. Warwick received her first Grammy Award in 1968 for her mega-hit, “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” and a second Grammy in 1970 for the best-selling album, “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again.” She became the first African-American solo female artist of her generation to win the prestigious award for Best Contemporary Female Vocalist Performance. This award was only presented to one other legend, Miss Ella Fitzgerald. Other African-American female recording artists certainly earned their share of crossover pop and R&B hits during the 1960’s, however, Warwick preceded the mainstream success of her musical peers by coming the first such artist to rack up a dozen consecutive Top 100 hit singles from 1963-1966.

Warwick’s performance at the Olympia Theater in Paris, during a 1963 concert starring the legendary Marlene Dietrich, skyrocketed her to international stardom. As Warwick established herself as a major force in American contemporary music, she gained popularity among European audiences as well. In 1968, she became the first African-American female artist to appear before the Queen of England at a Royal Command Performance. Since then, Warwick has performed before numerous kings, queens, presidents and heads of state. Warwick’s recordings of songs such as “A House is not a Home,” “Alfie,” “Valley of the Dolls,” and “The April Fools,” made her a pioneer as one of the first female artists to popularize classic movie themes.

Warwick began singing during her childhood years in East Orange, New Jersey, initially in church. Occasionally, she sang as a soloist and fill-in voice for the renowned Drinkard Singers, a group comprised of her mother Lee, along with her aunts and uncles. During her teens, Warwick and her sister Dee Dee started their own gospel group, The Gospelaires. Warwick attended The Hartt College of Music in Hartford, Connecticut, and during that time, began making trips to New York to do regular session work. She sang behind many of the biggest recording stars of the 1960’s including Dinah Washington, Sam Taylor, Brook Benton, Chuck Jackson, and Solomon Burke, among many others. It was at this time that a young composer named Burt Bacharach heard her sing during a session for The Drifters and asked her to sing on demos of some new songs he was writing with his new lyricist Hal David. In 1962, one such demo was presented to Scepter Records, which launched a hit-filled 12 year association with the label. Known as the artist who “bridged the gap,” Warwick’s soulful blend of pop, gospel and R&B music transcended race, culture, and musical boundaries.

In 1970, Warwick received her second Grammy Award for the best-selling album, “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again,” and began her second decade of hits with Warner Bros. Records. She recorded half a dozen albums, with top producers such as Thom Bell, Holland-Dozier-Holland, Jerry Ragavoy, Steve Barri, and Michael Omartian. In 1974, she hit the top of the charts with “Then Came You,” a million-selling duet with The Spinners. She then teamed up with Isaac Hayes for a highly successful world tour, “A Man and a Woman.”

In 1976, Warwick signed with Arista Records, beginning a third decade of hit-making. Arista Records label-mate Barry Manilow produced her first Platinum-selling album, “Dionne,” which included back-to-back hits “I’ll Never Love This Way Again,” and “Déjà vu.” Both recordings earned Grammy Awards, making Warwick the first female artist to win the Best Female Pop and Best Female R&B Performance Awards.

Warwick’s 1982 album, “Heartbreaker,” co-produced by Barry Gibb and the Bee Gees, became an international chart-topper. In 1985, she reunited with composer Burt Bacharach and longtime friends Gladys Knight, Elton John and Stevie Wonder to record the landmark song “That’s What Friends Are For,” which became a number one hit record around the world and the first recording dedicated to raising awareness and major funds for the AIDS cause in support of AMFAR, which Warwick continues to support.

Throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s, Warwick collaborated with many of her musical peers, including Johnny Mathis, Smokey Robinson, Luther Vandross, Jeffrey Osbourne, Kashif and Stevie Wonder. Warwick was also host of the hit television music show, “Solid Gold.” In addition, she recorded several theme songs, including “Champagne Wishes & Caviar Dreams,” for the popular television series “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous,” and “The Love Boat,” for the hit series from Aaron Spelling.

More recently, Warwick recorded an album of duets, “My Friends & Me,” for Concord Records, a critically acclaimed Gospel album, “Why We Sing,” for Rhino/Warner Records, and a new jazz album, “Only Trust Your Heart,” a collection of standards, celebrating the music of legendary composer Sammy Cahn for Sony Red/MPCA Records. More recently, Warwick has added “author” to her list of credits with two best-selling children’s books, “Say A Little Prayer,” and “Little Man,” and her first best-selling autobiography, “My Life As I See It” for Simon & Schuster.

Always one to give back, Warwick has supported and campaigned for many causes and charities close to her heart, including AIDS, The Starlight Foundation, children’s hospitals, world hunger, disaster relief and music education for which she has been recognized and honored and has raised millions of dollars. She served as Global Ambassador for Health and Ambassador for the United Nations’ Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO). A New Jersey school was named in her honor, The Dionne Warwick Institute in recognition of her accomplishments and support of education. Warwick was also a key participating artist in the all-star charity single, “We Are the World,” and in 1984, performed at “Live Aid.” celebrating 50 years in entertainment, and the 25th Anniversary of “That’s What Friends Are For,” Warwick hosted and headlined an all-star benefit concert for World Hunger Day in London and will continue to do so annually, was honored by the Desert Aids Project with its prestigious 2011 Steve Chase Humanitarian Arts & Activism Award, was recognized by AMFAR in a special reunion performance, alongside Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder at its Anniversary Gala in New York City, and was honored by Clive Davis at his legendary Pre-Grammy Party Gala.

Most recently, Warwick was inducted into the GRAMMY MUSEUM in Los Angeles where a special 50th Anniversary exhibit was unveiled and an historic program and performance was held in the Clive Davis Theater, hosted by Clive Davis, Burt Bacharach and Grammy Museum Executive Director, Bob Santelli.

Currently, Warwick just completed recording a new studio album commemorating her 50th Anniversary. Set for release this Fall, the album is being produced by Phil Ramone, featuring special new material written by her longtime friend and legendary composer Burt Bacharach. Warwick’s pride and joy are her two sons, singer recording artist David Elliott and award-winning music producer Damon Elliott and her family. Warwick has recently embarked on her 50th Anniversary World Concert Tour which will take her to all continents and countries that she has performed and visited throughout her illustrious and celebrated 50-year career.

Executive Producer

Damon Elliott

Damon Elliott is the newest triple threat as of January 24, 2023.  This morning, part of the Applause Best Song from a Motion Picture team with Diane Warren, Elliott garnered an Oscar 2023 nomination to be awarded early March.  Last month, Damon earned a Grammy nomination for producing WHITE SUN; together they are nominees Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album with ceremonies in two weeks. And, on February 3rd, the major motion picture 80 For Brady for which he produced the hit song, Gonna Be You (#6 on the Billboard charts in its 1st week), comes out nationwide and is expected to set the box office on fire with its star power.

Damon started his career getting a chance with the late Easy E and his burgeoning group, working on multiple songs with Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony, primarily with Flesh-N-Bone, producing 10 songs for them and having a notable hand in his debut solo album release entitled “T.H.U.G.S.”  He then went on to work with the group (Bone) producing multiple songs and several solo albums for Krayzie Bone, Flesh N Bone  and the Mo Thugs’ compilation album all achieving gold status .

It wasn’t long before he then went on to find his real calling which was cultivating female singers not surprising given that his mother, Dionne Warwick, is one of the greatest female singers of all time.  Soon, he started working with a young singer named Mya soon signed to Interscope.  First noticed via a song produced for the Rugrats movie soundtrack featuring Teddy Riley & Black Street, it wasn’t long before it became a huge hit and launched Mya’s solo career.  Damon and Mya released her first self-titled LP and earned 3 Billboard charting singles including one in the Top Ten.  They then released her sophomore album which was a worldwide success and put Damon on the map as one of the premier young producers in the industry.  At the same time, the breakout uber producer was starting another facet of his career, working on movie soundtracks and scores. His first hit was the title track from the smash global blockbuster, Men In Black starring Will Smith.

With his career in overdrive, Damon went on to work with Lady Marmalade producer, Roc Wilder, who featured Mya, Pink, Missy Elliott, Christina Aguilera, & Lil Kim in Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film Moulin Rouge, co-producing vocals with Ron Fair. Elliott won his first Grammy and had truly arrived fully as the leading female pop producer in the industry.  This fueled his working with multiple huge superstars like aforementioned Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Destiny’s Child for their album, Survivor, including the title track which became the biggest selling album by a girl group in the 21st century & catapulted Damon into the class of most successful producers in history with his first “Diamond Record.”

Damon then began to work with Beyoncé on multiple projects including her title track for the blockbuster Austin Powers in Goldmember.  Simultaneously, Damon hit it off with Pink and found a synergy where they were able to create a new sound and produce their most successful project to date, “Mizundastood,” with a record 29 million records sold.

At the same time, Damon’s movie production career ratcheted up and he soon produced music for 12 major movies between 2001-2005 including Down To Earth, Two Can Play That Game, First Daughter, The Fighting Temptations and Fat Albert in which also he had a cameo.  It was his introduction to a young singer from Oakland then named Keyshia Cole while working on the Biker Boyz soundtrack that had him sign her to his label the same day he met her.  They began to work on her first LP with Ron Fair that featured Kanye West, Missy Elliott, Jadakiss and Eve.  Keyshia’s album was a huge success opening at #6 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum in just 25 weeks.  The success from her first album translated to immersion on her second album “Just Like You,” released in 2007 and another huge success peaking at #2 which remains her best-selling first week of any album with 322,000 copies sold.  Damon was nominated for one of his seven Grammy nominations.

Elliott then took an ambitious turn from working with top female singers and found a young rapper/producer, Jamal Marcus Hopson now known solely as ‘Hopsin.’ Damon saw that the young artist had the trifecta of what is needed to breakout into superstardom – Hopsin could rap, write and produce –  Damon helped him mix some of his records and introduced him to Easy E’s label, Ruthless Records,  where Hopsin was immediately signed and he went on to lead the YouTube revolution amassing hundreds of millions of views without ever having a radio single earning the title of the first self-contained superstar internet artist.

In 2009, Damon was sought out to work on music on one of the biggest films at the time, the remake of the classic movie Fame which led to several other box office hits.  Damon continued his work in film with his next production from The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) and shortly after, added reality tv to his credits including Holly World and Kendra On Top for six seasons.

His foray into filmed entertainment eventually led to the formation of NomaD in 2017, a reggae artist alter ego taking the imprint to Hawaii where he refined its brand, released several popular records and became many of the island’s most successful commercial releases.  After a fall 2018 NomaD released of its first LP, “Grown Tingz” with Hawaii’s biggest reggae artists, Damon returned to the mainland and started managing his mother, Dionne Warwick, while launching his record label, Kind Music Group.  Damon produced and  released Dionne’s next two albums, “She’s Back” (2019) and “The Voices of Christmas” (2020) which both charted on Billboard’s Top 20.

This fall, Damon is working with legendary songwriter, Dianne Warren, who holds the record for the most Academy Awards nominations in her field and will be the first songwriter ever  awarded an Honorary Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences on November 19, 2022.   Their collaboration is singular and they’ve created two superb songs for two very different feature films.  This fall’s release of “Applause” sung by Sofia Carson from the upcoming film Tell It Like A Woman (Samuel Goldwyn) with Cara Delavigne, Marcia Gay Harden, Jennifer Hudson and Eva Longoria will likely receive an Oscar nomination.  Next year’s  “Gonna Be You” with Dolly Parton, Gloria Estefan, Cyndi Lauper and Debbie Harry for the film 80 for Brady (Paramount Pictures) starring Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, Sally Field, Lily Tomlin, Harry Hamlin and more is scheduled for a February 3rd, 2023 release.

BIOGRAPHY

Thaddeus M. Bullard is a global entertainer, accomplished athlete, and philanthropist. Bullard went from being a resident of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches as a troubled, underperforming young man to being a mentor, role model and honorary Deputy for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Bullard’s passion and commitment to not only succeed personally but also to help others succeed is derived from an early seed planted at the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, where many invested in him when, in his words, “they had nothing to gain in return.”  Bullard has meaningfully supported various organizations, locally and globally, by giving of his time, talent, and finances.  Although Bullard, a product of a rape, lacked a strong male role model in the home, his commitment to family, most notably his two sons, TJ (17) and Titus (15), are nothing short of remarkable. Bullard’s first priority is being a father and role model to his children.  For the past ten (12) plus years his “Joy of Giving” holiday event has garnered over 15,000 gifts annually to underprivileged children and families in need throughout the Greater Tampa area.  Bullard is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity incorporated, the president of the Bullard Family Foundation (an organization that provides programs and resources to help build character and improve outcomes in the community) and a member of Revealing Truth Ministries in Tampa, Florida, where he resides.

Director

Cynthia Nekvasil

Cynthia Nekvasil is the founder of Entertainment Revue, and served as its artistic director and choreographer for 26 years until retiring in 2015.

Cynthia was a sophomore studying political science at the University of Tampa when she was offered a position as an “after school” music instructor at a small local elementary school. That opportunity led to a summer music camp, which she directed, and Entertainment Revue was born in 1989.

During those final years in college, Cynthia developed a presence in the community by becoming active in the Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the Tampa Visitors Association, and successfully secured a corporate sponsorship from the Pepin Distributing Company.

Entertainment Revue became a well-known group in the Tampa Bay area and began building a repertoire to fulfill the demands of their new corporate clients.
In 1992, Cynthia formed a non-profit organization and set up an educational scholarship fund. Cynthia’s intention was to provide “need-based” tuition grants, as well as establish a college scholarship fund for cast members. To date, Entertainment Revue has awarded over $500,000 in educational scholarships, which have been paid out to girls in universities all over the country.

Over the years, Cynthia has used her talents to develop television and music projects. In 1997, Cynthia wrote and directed a pilot for a childrens’ television show “DIVAS.” The show was optioned by the FOX network for development and Cynthia worked alongside the network developing scripts. When the show wasn’t picked up, the plan was to resubmit it to other networks, but the Teen Pop music scene had taken over and Cynthia instead focused her attention on developing music projects. Her first act “PYT” was picked up by Epic Records, and within months the quartet were touring as an opening act for N’SYNC and Britney Spears. Cynthia followed up with the development of 12 year old singing sensation Chloe Lowery, who was signed by RCA records. In those three short years, eight of the ER girls signed major record deals and Cynthia split her time traveling with her musical artists and directing the Entertainment Revue back home.

In December of 1999, Cynthia and her husband Bob adopted Zoe from China. That next year, Cynthia made the decision to end her traveling and activities in the music industry to spend more time with Zoe and refocus on her first love – Entertainment Revue.

Over the years, the group has grown in size and popularity, and has been honored to have performed for three Presidents, at national conventions, charity events, professional sporting events, and maintained a strong presence in the community. ER girls have been featured on shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and The Voice. 2013 was an exciting year as three of our ER girls landed leading roles in Broadway productions.

2014 marked the 25th Anniversary of Entertainment Revue. Holding her Final Curtain performance in May 2015 featuring notable ER alumni and current casts, Cynthia took her final bow as Director. She remains connected to the group and spearheads the alumni network of former ER girls.

Cynthia is now remarried and enjoying new adventures in her retirement. She loves her life in St. Pete/Cape Cod and enjoys a rich network of friends, boating, entertaining, and spending time with her lifelong friends made through ER.
