We Love Auditions, and You Will Too!

Hits! The Musical’s Audition Tour has traveled to 19 cities so far, and we’ve seen some amazing young performers. American Idol and America’s Got Talent contestants, national dance champions, and even a Josie Award nominee have put themselves forward to be a part of our talented cast!

Most remarkable, though, is just how much fun these young people are having at our auditions. In every city, we get amazing feedback from both auditioners and their parents about our welcoming environment, the friendliness of our staff, and just how supported they all feel in the audition room. Every day, our Instagram account receives tags and mentions in photos of large groups of new friends who bonded during the hours they spent together at auditions. We’re so glad to be able to provide this environment for all who try out! Here’s what some of our auditioners have had to say about the process:

“It’s really fun – the chillest audition I’ve had. It feels very comfortable.” – X. Dawson

“Even if you don’t get in, this is a great experience. Thank you for doing something free” – Arlington Parent

“The atmosphere in the room is that we all want to support each other. I don’t feel as nervous as I thought, and I’ve had fun!” – H. Hernandez

“This is one of the nicest auditions I’ve been to. I’ve been to a lot of auditions where they’re really tense, but this is so carefree and fun!” – M. Moore

“I liked how organized everything was, with lots of info everywhere. The emails were great […] everything was so put together. My favorite thing though is the environment and how nice everyone is.” – J. Grashius

“Making it to [the show] is 1/1000, but having fun is 100%!” – D. Kiefer

“It takes a load off not having to be in a room full of hundreds of people. The small groups make you more confident.” – J. Napier

Clearly, our auditions are a great experience for both experienced performers and new arrivals to the theatre and music industry. We know it is a very competitive process, so we want to make the experience as fun and low-stress as possible. Selecting our cast of 22 is the main goal, of course, but we ensure that everyone who comes out to auditions gets to learn and grow as a performer. We are proud to create such a supportive environment for young artists, and we can’t wait to welcome even more of you when we return from our Fourth of July break! See you soon, Pittsburgh!
